This multi-year award of $2,000 (to be paid in four installments of $500 each) will be made to one deserving, female graduating senior at New Berlin West High School. Installments will be paid annually, or per semester if attending a 2-year program, to attend any accredited post-secondary institution (such as: trade or vocational school, college, or university). Awards will be paid directly to the institution the student is attending upon proof of enrollment and is in good standing for subsequent terms.
The Extra Lap Scholarship - This scholarship celebrates a player/teammate/clubmember who embodies the spirit of going “The Extra Lap.” It’s not always about your awards or recognition but how have you valued self-improvement and shown dedication to uplift those around you? The awarded recipient will be someone who is hardworking, resilient, focuses on self and team/club improvement, even while navigating her own personal challenges. Her extra effort is not just about maximizing her own potential but about inspiring and empowering her teammates to do the same. She shows passion, grit, and a commitment to making herself and her team better. Please share an example of a time or times when you went “The Extra Lap” to make a difference for yourself and your team.
To qualify for consideration students must:
be a female student eligible for graduation at New Berlin West
have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA,
participate in an extracurricular activity (ie: sports/band),
submit a letter of recommendation from a coach or teacher
submit an essay demonstrating how their passion, grit, resilience and hard work made them go “The Extra Lap”.
Scholarships shall be granted based on a combination of factors demonstrated in this application.
Applicants must submit the application materials online prior to the deadline (04/21/2025 at 11:59 PM). Applications are available through the Waukesha County Community Foundation Scholarship Portal, Students will create an account, complete an eligibility quiz, and then have access to the application.
